Administrative/Internal Review Process

First Level of Administrative/Internal Review

The client/applicant provides a detailed written request for an administrative/internal review to the Community Niigaaniin Manager within 30 days.

In situations where the Community Manager has made the decision then the administrative review request is written to the Income Verification Officer at the Niigaaniin Regional Office.

Second Level of Administrative Review

If the findings of the community-based administrative review process do not result in a resolution of the participant’s concern, the participant may write to the Income Verification Officer at the Niigaaniin Regional Office.

In situations where the Director of Niigaaniin Services complete the first level then a committee of three community managers are formed to conduct the second level.

Third Level of Administrative Review –OPTIONAL

This level is optional and is provided to the client. The client does not have to participate in the third level however it is recommended.

If the findings of the regional level administrative review process does not result in a resolution then a committee of Elders are formed to conduct the third level.

Fourth Level of Administrative Review

If the findings of the other levels of the administrative review process do not result in a resolution of the participant’s concern, the participant may write to the Social Tribunal as an official appeal.
